Outlook for Wednesday

(4/15/14)

Intra day volatility has been picking up especially in the Nasdaq which reminds me of the period from late 1999 into 2000 when sharp moves occurred in both directions on a daily basis.  Notice today the Nasdaq fell 110 points from the open through midday and then a magical ramp job occurred in the afternoon with a 90 point rise.

Many are probably wondering what happened which led to a major upside reversal around midday.   It was all about the Nasdaq bouncing perfectly off its 200 Day EMA (green line) after falling 10% from its high.   If the 200 Day EMA holds look for a potential Head and Shoulders Top pattern with the initial target for the 2nd Shoulder near 4200.

Finally Zerohedge had an excellent post today about daily performance so far this year involving the Dow.  Notice the only day with a positive bias so far this year has been on Tuesday's.
